DKT offers Nigerian women a variety of choices from a wide range of quality contraceptive products and increases contraceptive accessibility and availability across Nigeria. We promote family planning in Nigeria by:

  • Distributing branded and innovative products to the consumers and providers and ensuring that family planning products and services are readily available to consumers and healthcare providers
  • Detailing to doctors / midwives/ nurses/ pharmacists and other healthcare providers for better product education and training.
  •  Targeting adolescents and the youths (15-34 years) the largest sexually active age group in Nigeria), with the right contraceptive information to enable them make smart, informed family planning decisions
  • Training and capacity building on LARC (Long-Acting Reversible Contraception), PAC (Post -Abortion Care) and Family Planning counselling to healthcare providers to close the knowledge gaps in the family planning environment.
  • Using social marketing and effective communication campaigns through modern marketing techniques (social digital media, social marketing, use of sexiness, local languages etc.) to addresses myths and misconceptions regarding family planning.
  • Community based distribution to the vulnerable, hard to reach areas and low socio-economic groups with door-to-door counselling, educating and contraceptive provision to women.

Success story

  • In just over 2 years in Nigeria, DKT has made a remarkable impact on the contraceptive landscape. Our different contraceptive brands, Fiesta, Kiss, Postpill, Levofem, Miso-Fem, Lydia has grown to be considered synonymous with effectiveness, safety, affordability and quality.
  • We have distributed different contraceptive brands, Fiesta premium condoms, Kiss condoms, Postpill EC, Levofem Oral Contraceptives, DMPA Sc injectable, Implanon NXT, Jadelle implants, Miso-Fem and Lydia IUDs in different parts of Nigeria through our effective and nimble Medical Sales representatives.
  • Our sales motto is ‘effective & quick contraceptive delivery to customers within 24 hours of receiving an order). Providers have come to rely on DKT Medical Sales representatives for the timely delivery of quality contraceptives.
  • Lives of several women who were on the verge of heavy bleeding and at the risk of death have been saved through the timely delivery of the Manual Vacuum Aspirator kits and Miso-Fem tablets (Misoprostol) by our sales teams. Different narratives of success from our sales representatives in the fields validate DKTs efforts in the Nigerian contraceptive landscape and we are making more impact!
  • Within the short period, we have trained over 4,500 healthcare providers across different cadres comprising doctors, midwives, nurses, pharmacists, CHEWs and PPMV owners/managers.
  • Long-held myths and misconceptions have been dispelled and dissipated through our continuous efforts at re-orienting healthcare providers on counselling techniques towards adolescents and young women and the different family planning choices available to individuals.
  • DKT Nigeria is the first organization to commercially distribute DMPA Sc, the new pre-filled, sterile, single dose, easy-to- use, 3-month injectable contraceptive, anywhere on the African continent. This is a significant milestone because Nigeria is Africa’s most populous country and the 7th most populous country in the world. Through healthcare providers and our very own DKT Bees (Community Health Extension Workers (CHEWs), DMPA Sc has tremendously improved injectable contraceptive access for Nigerian women by increasing the ease, safety, and reach of non -clinic delivery even in community settings.
  • DKT Nigeria launched three IUD variants under the LYDIA brand with superior quality and presentation, namely Copper TCu 380A, Cu 375 Sleek and TCu 380A SafeLoad, the latter two are innovative products in the IUD technology and insertion techniques domain and introduced for the first time in Nigeria. Lydia IUDs are considered by providers to be synonymous with effectiveness, safety, affordability and quality, the very words DKT Nigeria lives by!

Duties and Responsibilities
1. Communicate product information in a way that's meaningful and relevant to each individual customer and account; customize discussions and client interactions based on understanding of customer's needs
2. Maintain effective communication and relationships with key external and internal customers.
3. Within institutional hospital accounts, act as primary point of contact for customer, meets with key customers/personnel to understand practice structure, business model, key influencers /network structure, customer needs and identifies business opportunities
4. Promote DKT Nigeria products and services to physicians and other medical personnel within assigned geography
5. Demonstrate advanced ability to ask strategic, insightful questions to obtain information on specific customer business/ healthcare needs. Uses the insights to position DKT Nigeria’s products and collaborates with customers on focused and customized business strategy
6. Share learnings and best-practices from one customer to help other customers meet their needs and exhibit professionalism and leadership with clients/ key account clinics
7. Build strategic relationships with the key opinion leaders in hospitals and clinics to negotiate purchases.
8. Engage in all job responsibilities and activities with the highest standards of ethics and integrity, with emphasis on compliance with all relevant laws, policies and regulations.
9. Additional duties as needed

Qualification/Experience- The candidate must have the following:
• Three to five years’ experience in clinic key account management / institutional sales of pharmaceutical products
• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and to work as part of a team
• Exceptional verbal, written and presentation skills
• Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Well-organized, with ability to track multiple activities and deadlines
The position reports to the Institutional Clinical Manager.
